An estimated 1,000 bicycle riders circled through Rippey Saturday as part of the 39th annual Bike Ride to Rippey – BRR – hosted by the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce.
Temperatures were in the upper 20s with a cold, damp fog as the ride started. The roads, Dallas County and Greene County paved roads, were clear of snow but the shoulders were not. Many cyclists opted for fat tire bikes, giving them more tread on the road.
Serving drinks, both hot and cold, and lunch is a big fundraiser for the Rippey fire department, the Rippey Lions Club and the First United Methodist Church youth group.
